Antenatal Breastfeeding Support & Education
Standard Consultation - $150 (60 minutes)
What will this consist of?
Booking a one-on-one consult antenatally will empower you, for your breastfeeding journey, before your baby arrives. You will acquire the toolkit to kick start your breastfeeding journey before it has begun.
- I will take a thorough review of your medical history and any past breastfeeding history.
- We will discuss what to expect in the first hour.
- Correct positioning and attachment.
- Common issues and how to avoid them.
- What to expect in the first few months, normal newborn behaviour and physiology.
- What to expect with hormonal changes and milk supply.
- We will discuss colostrum, hand expressing and practice. I will also provide you with your own expressing kit.
- I will help you navigate all the different breastfeeding products.
- I will answer any questions you may have and provide you with an individualised care plan.
- Antenatal expressing kit provided for all lactation consultations.
Postnatal Breastfeeding Support
Initial Consultation- $200 (90 minutes)
What will this consist of?
I will work alongside you to resolve any issues you may be experiencing. I will inform & empower you, giving you the confidence on your breastfeeding journey.
- I will take a thorough medical history.
- I will do a full assessment of both mother and baby and a full breastfeeding history.
- I will take a thorough look into the reason for the booking.
- I will do an assessment of positioning and attachment.
- I will do a thorough oral examination of your baby, with your consent.
- I will address and then by working alongside you, we will resolve any issues.
- I will provide you with a detailed breastfeeding plan, specifically tailored for you and your baby.
- I will provide you with any relevant resources.
- I will then follow up via email in 2-3 days post consult.
Postnatal Breastfeeding Support
Follow Up Consultation- $150 (60 minutes)
What will this consist of?
This is an evaluation and check in, we will assess how the current plan is going and if there are any issues. Whether you just need reassurance or there are ongoing issues. We will assess the plan together and see what is working or what needs to be changed.
- We will assess any changes and see what is working or not.
- I will answer any questions or concerns you have.
- I will provide an updated feeding plan.
- I will then follow up via email in 2-3 days post consult.
